Bending Line

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Bending Line is a practice-night tool for Pony Club and mounted games team trainers. This page explains, in plain terms, what the app does and does not do with information, because that is the whole policy: there is very little to tell.

The short version

Nothing leaves your device.

Bending Line has no account, no server, and no network connection of any kind. Every rider, pony, race, practice time and line-up you enter is stored only on your iPhone or iPad, inside the app's own private storage.

Nothing is collected by us.

We, the developer, never receive any of your data. There is no analytics software, no advertising network, and no crash-reporting service built into the app.

Nothing is tracked.

Bending Line does not track you or your device across apps or websites, and it does not share information with data brokers or advertisers, because it has no mechanism to share anything with anyone.

What the app stores, and where

All of the information below is written to on-device storage (SwiftData and the standard iOS settings store) and stays there unless you personally export or share it.

InformationWhy it's stored
Rider names, ages and notesSo you can build a roster and run practice for your team
Pony names, heights and habitsSo each rider–pony pair can be told apart and remembered correctly
Optional rider or pony photosShown on that pair's card inside the app only
Practice times, changeover splits and faultsThe stopwatch records you create each time you time a relay
Session notes and the session logYour own written notes about each practice run
Competitions, line-ups and heat resultsSo you can plan and record competition day
Kit-checklist state and app settingsSo your preferences and packing progress persist between launches

Camera and photo library

If you tap "Take photo" on a rider's card, the app asks iOS for permission to use the camera, and the photo you take is saved only inside the app's own data, attached to that rider. If you instead choose a photo from your library, the app uses Apple's standard photo picker, which never gives the app access to your full photo library — only the single photo you pick. If you later tap "Save to Photos" on a shareable line-up card, the app asks for permission to add that one image to your photo library; it does not read your existing photos to do this.

Notifications

Bending Line can send local reminders — for example, a nudge the evening before practice or the eve of a competition. These are scheduled entirely on your device and only after you turn a reminder on in Settings. We never see whether a reminder fired, and no notification is sent from a server, because there is no server.

Sharing features

When you use the Share button on a line-up card, the app hands that image or text to the standard iOS share sheet, which is controlled by you and by whichever app or person you choose to send it to. The app itself does not upload anything as part of that action.

Children's privacy

Bending Line is a tool used by adult coaches and parents to organise a team; any mention of young riders inside the data you enter (such as a rider's age) is information you choose to type in yourself, is never transmitted anywhere, and is treated exactly like every other piece of on-device data described above. The app itself is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children, because it does not collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever needs to change — for example, if a future version of the app adds an optional online feature — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
